General Information

Name CMIP7.CMIP.CCCma.CanESM5-1.1pctCO2
Abstract Project: CMIP7

CMIP core common experiments i.e. the DECK (Diagnostic, Evaluation and Characterization of Klima).

Produced by: Environment and Climate Change Canada (Using Model/Source: CanESM5-1 with Experiment 1pctCO2)

CanESM5-1 is a fully coupled atmosphere-ocean-land ESM, which is scientifically very similar to CanESM5, and includes major technical upgrades within the model components, as well as addressing some key scientific issues, like stratospheric dust spikes.

Experiment: 1% per year increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. All other conditions are kept the same as piControl.

CMIP7 is a project of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), coordinated by the Working Group on Coupled Modelling (WGCM).Phase 7 builds on previous phases executed under the leadership of the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) and relies on the Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) and the Centre for Environmental Data Analysis (CEDA) along with numerous related activities for implementation.
